VHTs comb homesteads to check sanitation levels in Arua

Village health teams (VHTs) recently combed sub-counties in Arua district, gauging the level sanitation in homesteads. The exercise was arranged by sub-county chiefs, with the aim of fighting disease.

“In Onzivu village, Oluko sub-county, the VHTs collected data about rubbish pits, bathing shelters and pit latrines,” says Justice Acidiri, a resident.

Acidiri added that the purpose of the exercise was to sensitise people about sanitation and disease control. Sub-county chiefs will use the data collected to devise means of improving sanitation.
