The Rains Came Down and the Roads Were Washed Away
As recently as last week, News-Hapa was receiving citizen reports decrying drought in Northern Uganda. This week, we can confidently report that over the weekend, the rains finally visited the region. But, it is not the citizen weather reports that tell us so. It is the reports about roads instead. Here is a sampling of the road reports from Northern Uganda.
From Yumbe district: Mondomoro village, Kei sub county: “Our children have failed to go to school because government has failed to make bridges on the roads.”
From Nebbi district: Robert Emviga of Wadelai subcounty adds; “heavy rains have made most the roads impassable.”
From Arua district: “The passengers who travel from R/Camp town to Arua town are complaining of the bad state of road.”
